Ann Broz, MD
Ann grew up in Chicago, IL in a large family. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign earning her undergraduate degree in Biology and went on to work in research for a few years. During that time, she also worked as an emergency medical technician and began volunteering on medical relief teams in Guatemala. Her early humanitarian experiences developed her fascination with obstetrics and gynecology and the Spanish language.
She was so passionate about this work that she decided to attend medical school in Mexico at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. After earning her medical degree and achieving her goal to become fluent in Spanish, she completed her Ob/Gyn residency at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, New York. After living away from home to pursue her career for so many years, Ann returned to the Midwest and began practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology in Indiana.
In 2007, Ann took her first trip to Alaska to visit her brother who was teaching out on the tundra. Since that trip, she has never been able to shake her love for Alaska. After practicing for five years in Indiana, she could no longer ignore the call of Alaska and joined Alaska Women’s Health in December of 2021. She enjoys working with women through all stages of their lives and looks forward to forming a long-term health partnership with her patients.
When not working, Ann enjoys hiking, bicycling, cooking and spending time with her partner and two pups. They all enjoy traveling and she still looks forward to her volunteer work in Guatemala each year.
