Dr. Louisa Chatroux
Louisa Chatroux grew up in Southern Oregon where she fell in love with the outdoors from a young age. She graduated from Southern Oregon University with a degree in Sociology and Chemistry and then attended medical school and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Portland, Oregon at Oregon Health and Science University. She became passionate about gynecologic surgery, pelvic pain, and endometriosis during her time in residency, which led her to pursue fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.
She completed a two-year fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic surgery at Brigham and Women’s hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, gaining expertise in complex endometriosis surgery, fibroids, management of pelvic pain, hysteroscopy, and advanced fertility procedures such as laparoscopic abdominal cerclage. During her time in fellowship, she also completed a master’s in Public Health at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health with a research focus on increasing access to gynecologic surgery and addressing healthcare disparities.
Louisa looks forward to expanding access to gynecologic surgery and care in Anchorage and is thrilled to be joining Alaska Women’s Health. Her areas of focus are minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, endometriosis, fibroids, infertility, pelvic pain, hysteroscopy, and patient education. She also gained experience in fellowship with novel treatments for uterine fibroids and is excited to share those options with her patients in Anchorage.
She and her husband are so excited to be moving to Anchorage with their two dogs and are especially looking forward to being close to the mountains and beautiful trails. They love to ski, trail run, backpack, and cook, and Louisa is particularly passionate about baking sourdough bread.
