Dr. Alyssa Wells
Alyssa (Weaver) Wells was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. She attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks, graduating summa cum laude with her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with leadership distinction. She earned her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine WWAMI program, completing many of her clinical rotations in Anchorage. During medical school she married her high-school sweetheart and they welcomed their first daughter. She was also inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Alyssa then completed her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Creighton University in Phoenix, Arizona, where she received excellent training in comprehensive OB/GYN care including high risk obstetrics and complex gynecologic surgery at two high volume tertiary care hospitals. She also welcomed her second daughter during residency.
Alyssa and her family are excited to return to Anchorage to take advantage of the beauty and adventure Alaska has to offer. She couldn’t imagine joining a practice other than Alaska Women’s Health, with the physicians that took amazing care of her during her first pregnancy and inspired her to become an OB/GYN. Alyssa enjoys the full spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology practice, particularly high and low risk pregnancy, labor and delivery, and gynecologic surgery. She enjoys caring for women of every age and considers it an immense privilege to partner with them during some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. She focuses on empowering her patients through education and is committed to providing compassionate care in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys everything about “mom-life”, playing with her family, eating and cooking delicious food, reading, fitness, and music.
