Our Providers - Colleen Carey, RN, CNM, ANP
Colleen Carey, RN, CNM, ANP began her nursing education and career in Alaska. She received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Anchorage Community College and went on to the University of Alaska Anchorage for her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Colleen has worked as a L&D/postpartum staff nurse for Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, taught childbirth education classes in affiliation with the North Star Childbirth Education Association and was a staff Public Health Nurse before deciding to pursue her Masters Degree in Nursing. She completed her Nurse-Midwifery Program in Utah and returned home to Fairbanks.
Colleen has worked in many capacities including; coordinator/teacher and an instructor for the Tanana Valley Community College, Lead Teacher for the Statewide Nursing Program at the Anchorage Community College, Nurse Practitioner for Denali Medical Services’ Fairbanks Clinic, Staff Development Instructor for Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and at the Fairbanks Family Planning Clinic before joining us here at Alaska Women’s Health.
A proud mother of one son, Colleen is also an outdoors woman who loves to camp and enjoy the wilds of Alaska.
