Our Providers - Catherine (Cathy) Gohring, M.D.

Catherine (Cathy) Gohring, M.D.is a happily married mother of three who moved from New York to Alaska in 1992. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh, New York. Dr. Gohring went on to earn her Medical Doctorate from SUNY Stony Brook College of Medicine in New York.

Throughout her career Dr. Gohring has held many hospital appointments, including House Officer of the department of OBGYN at Mercy Hospital, Attending Physician at the Nassau County Medical Center Family Planning Clinic, Clinical Assistant Instructor for the department of OBGYN at SUNY Stony Brook College of Medicine, and Attending Physician for the Suffolk County Department of Health Services at the Brentwood Health Center and Tri-Community Health Center.

Since moving to Alaska Dr. Gohring has been the Chief of Staff at Providence Alaska Medical Center, an active staff member at the Alaska Surgery Center, a courtesy staff physician at Alaska Regional Hospital, a consultant for the Municipality of Anchorage Family Planning Clinic, the Maternal Medical Director for Life Guard Alaska at Providence Alaska Medical Center, and the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Providence Alaska Medical Center.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
